Donovan Heating and Air exceeded our expectations from start to finish. Not only did they replace our AC unit, but they also took the time to inspect the entire system before installation, including the ductwork in the attic. They identified flaws in the AC plenum and ductwork that needed upgrading to ensure the new system would operate efficiently—and they handled those upgrades very effectilly. Our initial meeting with Brandon was very informative and detailed. He carefully explained all available options and answered every question before we made a decision. From the beginning, he inspired confidence and trust. Brandon and his excellent team worked effectively, professionaly, and delivered excellent results. In the end, the AC system is working great, the quote was fair, and the financing options were excellent. I highly recommend Donovan Heating and Air to anyone looking for honesty, quality workmanship, and outstanding customer service.

Had a new Carrier AC install on 10/24. Couldn’t be happier with the results; expert install, great unit and an awesome and professional team. Stephan, in sales, guided us through everything needed and thoroughly explained every step. Edrie, Brayden, Dylan, and others I’m forgetting… did an awesome install. System replaced another that was installed on 2019, but wasn’t setup properly or ran like this new one.

After a recent service call I decided to replace my AC unit. During the initial service call, my technician Sam was fantastic. He did a great job of explaining everything to me, going over both units and answering the many questions that I had. He provided me multiple options for new units, gave me honest feedback on the differences and helped me choose what would be best for me moving forward. The team of technicians that installed my new units did a great job. They took extra care in the work area and thoroughly answered my many questions. I also appreciate that you receive a text message with the name and picture of the technicians that will be coming to your property!

Update. Donovan’s customer service person Gabby-a true credit to this company- had supervisors come to my property. Required permits were pulled and everything passed. I think next time I would be more particular and ask for a senior tradesman. Donovan’s tried and made good on previous promises. Would not use Donovan’s again. I was ensured that they were still run by the family, but after my experience, I do not think that’s the case. I had thousands of dollars worth of electrical and plumbing work performed by Donovan’s when I first moved to the area. The electrical work was done and it’s fine. The plumbing work was done, but was done shoddily and was not completed. I did not want them to come back to complete as I felt that the workmanship was lacking. I had new waterlines added to my garage for a washer to be installed along with a new sewer line that had to be hooked up to sewer. I had an RO water filter put in and new faucets in my bathroom. I had a new subpanel for Electric added to my garage off of my old panel for the dryer and multiple other electrical items done as well. End of October, due to a problem with another contractor, I came to realize that no permits had been pulled for the plumbing or electrical work performed by Donovan’s. I contacted Donovan and spoke to a woman named Christine who is in charge of the permitting and she stated that permits did not need to be pulled for these items. That couldn’t be farther from the truth, and I was actually told by the county that these permits needed to be pulled. The reasoning for pulling permits is so that an inspector inspects the work and states the work was done correctly. It’s a safeguard. A reputable company like Donovan‘s should have pulled these permits. They aren’t expensive. I’m shocked that they did not pull the permits but even more shocked at the woman who debated the issue with me and did not even offer an apology. I have since found a very reputable longstanding company that is still family owned in Jacksonville and the surrounding areas. I have been impressed by their work and their transparency. I would steer clear of Donovan’s and pick another company.

Update 8/22/25: To date I have not heard from anyone at Donovan and am fairly certain that they are buying reviews to bury the lower rated reviews. I submitted a complaint with the BBB on 8/13/25 but no response. Sad to see what was a good company failing. Original post: I have used Donovan Air a few times without any issues and was very happy with their work as they came highly recommended by a friend but the last 2 visits have been horrible and have ended up costing me more money. On 6/13/25 I used the maintenance plan that I had enrolled into as an upsell from the prior visit and had a tech come out for their "21 point tune-up". The tech was very nice and personable and first told me that the system was 10 years old but that it was doing what it should. Then he changed it to, it's 10 years old and we recommend you replace it and we can give you a quote. I turned down the offer and went about my day. Since the visit I noticed a musty odor and checked my unit. After pulling out the filter and peeking under it was covered in layers of nastiness and what was likely mold, I now know that part I was looking at was the or a coil. I reviewed the report and there was no mention of the coil needing to be cleaned and the pictures in the report did not show it. There is absolutely no chance that this accumulated within a 6 week period. I reached out to Donovan via email last week and have yet to hear from them. I think that it is only fair that since they did not fulfill their maintenance plan I should receive at least a partial reimbursement. I am extremely disappointed that I have not heard from them yet, I know that they had a great reputation I guess this is just another casualty of COVID where the quality of the product has drastically declined.
